The Greater London Authority's report about infant death rates in London's electoral wards [click here] has a map on page 8 which fails to show positions of incinerators - despite
one of the questions by Darren Johnson [click here] clearly linking high infant death rates with incinerators.
The GLA's map shows wards with infant death rates of 9.0 per 1,000 live births and above
for period 2002-2008 and this map shows how emissions from Edmonton incinerator cannot be excluded as a causal factor.
The eight council areas shown have a total of 178 electoral wards and the ward with the
highest infant death rate is in the constituency of the Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP, the man
who has recently (29 March 2012) secured a "victory" in the Appeal Court over the St Dennis incinerator
in Cornwall.
Mr Pickles is from Bradford, another City where infant death rates vary around incinerators. http://www.ukhr.eu/incineration/kirkleesarea.pdf |
